Ari Hosts a Party – and has her first Cosmopolitan πŸ˜‰ – 02/25/2017

This weekend was amazing πŸ™‚ I hosted a party to celebrate the fact that as of a little over a month ago my divorce is finally behind me. (I want to throw in a thank you to my former spouse for helping me to keep the whole process civil). Anyone who has been through a divorce knows that it is not only the fact that you have to deal with the loss of a very close relationship.. but you are also dealing with a prolonged mountain of stress, both due to financial loss and the level of time commitment to deal with the lawyers, document revisions and approvals, court dates, etc. I am so happy it is finally complete!

I called the event β€œAri’s New Beginnings Party.” I was also celebrating the fact that I had my first official date as Ari and it was memorable as far as first dates go. It was also great to be the one who was asked, instead of the one who has to do the asking.. that was a new experience in itself πŸ˜‰

The plan for the party was to pre-party at my place and then go out to a popular bar in my town. However, we ended up just staying at my place until the wee hours because everyone seemed to be having so much fun there. Why go spend money at a bar when everyone brought great food and drinks to share πŸ™‚

Later in the night we even pulled out some of my retro gaming gear and a few of my friends were geeking out to it πŸ™‚Β

I slept until 11 am this morning after all of that fun and felt great. I also got to enjoy a sushi dinner tonight with two of my best friends πŸ™‚

It is a moment like this.. when I can’t help but reflect to where I was a little over a year ago.. with no friends in the area and frankly not sure how I was going to change that. With a concerted effort to be open, accessible, and true to myself by choosing to do Meetups on Meetup.com that I was interested in.. I began to meet people with similar interests and I now have MANY new friends. I am so grateful to be where I am right now and while I can’t predict the future.. I am very much looking forward to it.

I love you all. Get out there and meet people and believe you are worth being loved and accepted, BECAUSE YOU ARE!

-Ari

p.s. I dared to include pics without my glasses.. I used to not like my glass-less reflection, but I think I am finally getting over that.

My goal in sharing my transition is to represent transgender people in the positive light that we all deserve. Re-blogs are always okay if they are for this purpose, but if you are a fetish blog or fetish website then I want nothing to do with you and you do not have my permission to use my images.

re-blog to highlight the above response to some kind comments πŸ™‚
