Ari Gets the Spicy Mulled Wine Treatment
Mulled wine hair color is a building trend right now. I decided to go with it for my hair color because it is very complimentary if you have hazel eyes. Also, violet purple in general is my favorite color. It also just happens to go with the color theme of my Twitch channel, but that was just a bonus 😉
When I first saw the color under some harsh lighting in the salon I was not sure I was getting what I asked for, but of course my colorist knew better. She told me to see it with better lighting first and it is spot on for what I was looking for.
I was planning to see The Last Jedi later that night with a group of my close friends (along with some new people I hadn’t met yet) and figured I would drop in at Ross to see if I could find a top or dress to compliment my new hair. This was going to be my first full night out after my surgery and I wanted to make my debut a little more fun 🙂
I found the perfect outfit I think…
It was actually a tight little sweater dress and it was only $6.99!
The night out consisted of going to California Pizza Kitchen with my friends, then viewing the movie, and one of the guys bought me a hard cider to enjoy during the show (that was nice!). Finally we went to Rock Bottom for some light food and drinks afterward. Two of the guys in the group made a point of introducing themselves to me. One of them stuck
around next to me to talk for a while at the table I was sitting at with two of my girlfriends at Rock Bottom. It was nice to feel like I was making an impression 🙂
It was great to get back out there and find my confidence again. Staying at home alone for so long (other than a quick lunch or dinner with a couple of my closest friends) had brought back the butterflies related to “going out.” Due to the long recovery (which is still ongoing), I have of course been laying around to get the rest I need. With a few exceptions, I had been dressing only in my most comfy clothes and frankly had been looking and feeling rather tired and worn down for a long period of time.
I am happy to report the butterflies have evaporated and I felt strong and alert the whole evening. It’s amazing what a good experience at the salon can do to restore confidence and positive energy.
Today (Sunday), I was able to get out for breakfast with a good friend. On the way home I did more of the holiday shopping I needed to do. I was complimented in three different stores by the ladies working there. Two compliments were for my hair and the last was for the skirt I was wearing.
Yay for two bright and cheery days in a row!
