Happy Galentine’s Day 2018 🙂
I was invited to a Galentine’s day celebration last night (02/13) at a Wine Bar with a bunch of my girlfriends. It was amazing but dangerous as they give you a card that you swipe to fill your glass with either a taste, half, or full glass of wine! Thankfully, I quickly found a favorite to go with. It was a Ruby Red blend that was delicious. I also ordered sweet potato fries and crab cakes. So good!
As the night went on and people started to leave, I decided to stay and chat with two of the girls that wanted to stay out later. We ended up closing out the wine bar and asked one of the waitresses if she wanted to go out with us to a karaoke bar. She did! She knew a bunch of people there and she was randomly introducing us all night as her new friends. We ended up singing the last song (well I was in the background while my one friend was amazing) of the night and I think we were the last ones to leave that place too. What a crazy night to ring in Valentine’s Day.
Oh, and the guy running the karaoke gave us beads 😉
So this is me collapsed on the sofa nearing 2 am..
This was the longest I have been able to stay out since starting my recovery from surgery. We met a lot of interesting characters there and I certainly was not used to the level of attention our little group got. I keep re-learning that so much in life is just about showing up and being comfortable with yourself. I am still trying to master the second part. I felt awkward and nervous at the karaoke bar (especially with so many eyes on us), but that has been on my to-do list since I began transitioning so YAY!!
