Ari Hosts a Party – and has her first Cosmopolitan 😉 – 02/25/2017

This weekend was amazing 🙂 I hosted a party to celebrate the fact that as of a little over a month ago my divorce is finally behind me. (I want to throw in a thank you to my former spouse for helping me to keep the whole process civil). Anyone who has been through a divorce knows that it is not only the fact that you have to deal with the loss of a very close relationship.. but you are also dealing with a prolonged mountain of stress, both due to financial loss and the level of time commitment to deal with the lawyers, document revisions and approvals, court dates, etc. I am so happy it is finally complete!

I called the event “Ari’s New Beginnings Party.” I was also celebrating the fact that I had my first official date as Ari and it was memorable as far as first dates go. It was also great to be the one who was asked, instead of the one who has to do the asking.. that was a new experience in itself 😉

The plan for the party was to pre-party at my place and then go out to a popular bar in my town. However, we ended up just staying at my place until the wee hours because everyone seemed to be having so much fun there. Why go spend money at a bar when everyone brought great food and drinks to share 🙂

Later in the night we even pulled out some of my retro gaming gear and a few of my friends were geeking out to it 🙂

I slept until 11 am this morning after all of that fun and felt great. I also got to enjoy a sushi dinner tonight with two of my best friends 🙂

It is a moment like this.. when I can’t help but reflect to where I was a little over a year ago.. with no friends in the area and frankly not sure how I was going to change that. With a concerted effort to be open, accessible, and true to myself by choosing to do Meetups on Meetup.com that I was interested in.. I began to meet people with similar interests and I now have MANY new friends. I am so grateful to be where I am right now and while I can’t predict the future.. I am very much looking forward to it.

I love you all. Get out there and meet people and believe you are worth being loved and accepted, BECAUSE YOU ARE!

p.s. I dared to include pics without my glasses.. I used to not like my glass-less reflection, but I think I am finally getting over that.

Ari Beats the Gatekeepers Part 2

My passport has arrived. It took just twelve days since I paid for expedited processing. There are no mistakes and it feels great to have yet one more milestone behind me 🙂 If you want to read the story behind how this was almost delayed for a long period of time then click here:

Happy Valentine’s Day!

This is a reminder to love yourself on this overly commercialized day 🙂

It is my parent’s wedding anniversary so Feb. 14th does actually have some sentimental meaning for me (Love you both!).

I bought a red dress a few weeks back because the only red one I have is my Renaissance dress. Anyhow, the pics seemed appropriate for today.

This is just a quick post,

I am catching up on some work tonight and my kiddos are here as well. I do have more stories and life updates to write up later and hope to do so very soon.

One quick note: according to the U.S. Passport website status update, my passport application is in it’s final stages and should be mailed by 2/16! I am hoping this means there are no issues and they processed it correctly. I will certainly update once I receive it.

Enjoy your heart shaped pizzas or whatever it is you may do today for fun 🙂
